It looked extremely professional but also was handwritten. I think it was from the big felt seller, benzie?

I've received hand-written thank you's from several large "professional" companies. I mean, it's usually no more than a scribble but it's the thought that counts right?
I like getting hand-written notes. I like sending them too instead of just sending an invoice. I don't intend to stop. Clients can request for me to put a note into a box they send from my store as a gift. I personally handwrite the notes on nice paper, fold them into a s-style envelope, and "seal" it with wax and my store's logo. I've gotten nothing but compliments on how these have turned out, and have had several clients actually say they appreciate the handwritten touch over a more sterile but admittedly neater printed note. My only concerns are if your handwriting is neat or not which is an easy enough fix, and basic calligraphy might be fun to learn for you!
If you ever get into that position, I'd say print on nice paper but still sign all notes by hand--and maybe include a quick little PS note about the order so the clients still know that they're "not just a number" or a quick sale. This sounds sooo nice to do!
whatever: craft weekend
I tried my hand at calligraphy a long time ago but have not done it since. Very nice idea! I made a batch of mugs that my buddy said looked real bad.
He said the tops wobbled and not completely round. In the end I sold those mugs out first because folks enjoyed the idea of and handmade touch. So writing the note inside is a nice personal touch and I think you should keep doing it. Many folks do not write anymore but simply text or e-mail. I found an awesome old book on penmanship and the high standards writing was held to and what it said about the person.
The BACN Story
I wish I still had it. So write away! I put my hand-written notes on the back of printed thank-you cards that I designed for my shop - they have a coupon code for them! But, like others were saying, handwritten notes go just fine within the etsy 'vibe. I always put in a handwritten note. If nothing else, they see that my hands actually touched what is being sent to them and I think that's a good way for a handmade shop to be.
I write hand written notes with items when i have enough time. When i get busy, I don't have the time to personalise each item. When you are busy and can't spend the time with every package, you should thnk about how to change your strategy. I love when an item I order comes with a handwritten note, rather than typed!

I'm not mad at a typed one - i know it's way faster - but it's always a really nice surprise that someone took the time to hand write and I remember that for sure! Cake Day. Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser. Handwritten notes. If you were Macy's it would definitely look unprofessional.
